You can start pre-ordering your Fall bulbs in June. This means our Fall bulb collection is online and you can already order your Fall bulbs before certain bulbs sell out. Most of the fall bulbs are imported from the Netherlands and we ship them per boat to our warehouse in Kansas City. Once they're in our warehouse, we store them in optimal conditions until it is time to ship them.

When do we ship them? We start shipping Fall bulbs in the second week of October and of course, we'll ship out the pre-orders first. Because of the large number of pre-orders, this means you can expect your order to arrive probably somewhere in the third week of October. This can depend on the number of pre-orders, but also on the postal service we use.

If you order Fall bulbs after October 15 when all of the pre-orders are shipped, you can expect your order within 5-7 workdays. This also depends on the postal service and the number of orders.

When your fall bulbs arrive, the first step is to check them carefully for any damage or signs of disease. If they appear healthy, the next step depends on the climate of your living area.

Generally, it is best to plant fall bulbs before the first frost, allowing them ample time to establish roots before winter sets in. Depending on your location, the ideal planting time can vary. In cooler climates, it's recommended to plant fall bulbs in early fall, while in warmer regions, planting can be done in early to mid-fall.

If you are unable to plant your bulbs immediately upon arrival, store them in a cool, dry location with good ventilation. Avoid exposing the bulbs to extreme temperatures, moisture, or direct sunlight. Check them regularly for any signs of mold, rot, or dehydration, and plant them as soon as possible. With proper care and attention, your fall bulbs should provide years of beauty and enjoyment in your garden.

If you live in an area with a cold climate, then it's best to plant your bulbs as soon as possible. The rule in general is to plant your Fall bulbs before the first frost. This is ideally in October or November (depending on the climate of your living area). Tulips are perfect for USDA hardiness zones 3-8.

If you live in an area with a warmer climate, USDA hardiness zone 8 and up, then you should wait until December when the weather starts to cool down.

If you missed the planting window of October or November, then you can still plant them in December. Remember that Fall bulbs need approximately 15 weeks of cold to develop their roots to grow beautifully in Spring. So if you plant your Fall bulbs past the planting window, then there’s a possibility that they grow shorter.

• Preparing the Soil: prepare your garden bed by loosening the soil and removing any weeds or debris. Enhance the soil's fertility and drainage by incorporating organic matter, such as compost or well-rotted manure.
• Timing is crucial: Fall bulbs should be planted when the soil temperature is consistently below 60°F (15°C), typically in late summer or early fall. This timing allows the bulbs to establish root systems before winter dormancy.
• Planting depth and spacing: follow the recommended planting depth and spacing guidelines for each bulb variety. As a general rule, plant bulbs two to three times deeper than their own height. Space bulbs at appropriate distances to allow room for growth and air circulation.
• Proper planting technique: dig individual holes or trenches for the bulbs, ensuring they are placed with the pointed end facing upward. Gently cover the bulbs with soil, firming it down to eliminate air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting to promote root development.
• Protection and maintenance: apply a layer of mulch, such as straw or shredded leaves, over the planted area to insulate the bulbs from extreme temperature fluctuations. Water as needed to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.
